It has been noticed that within the last decade, the pest control industry has gone green.  Green IPM procedures focus first on the non-chemical methods; these include:

  1. Using good quality methods during the implementation of the IPM program,
  2. Sanitation and removing favorable conditions to pests to grow and develop in large numbers,
  3. Using pest proofing technique to exclude points of entry,
  4. Eliminate harbourages, food, and water,
  5. Using physical removal of pests (using trapping, vacuuming, steaming, lighting devices),

One rule in green pest management is to limit the use of insecticides to cracks and crevices, focusing on insect harbourages and reducing the amount of material available for non-target species.
