Transportation Industry

Three modes of transportation, in and out of the country, are known (air. Land, and water). Protection of transportation facilities from various pests is essential for our movements globally.  The high number of people traveling keeps these facilities conducive to pest occurrence and pest carryover.  Pests can be discovered in all types of facilities (airplanes, ships, trains, buses, cars, etc.) and can pose health risks to customers and employees, and make damage our transported goods.

Transportation Industry
Transportation facilities are at risk for many pests because
  1. quarantined pests are often carried onto airplanes by passengers
  2. food service areas in all transportation facilities, present some of the same problems as the kitchen
  3. pests can enter a vehicle/airplane/ship on customers’ belongings, and
  4. pests are often carried onto vehicles by customers’ pets.
Failure to control pests by pest control operators in transportation facilities can lead to serious consequences and concerns. These facilities are monitored by governmental agencies that are dealing with the cost of pest control treatments.

The discovery of a single pest can prevent customers and the facility staff from using these facilities (reputation or poor publicity).  Also, using a large amounts of pesticides or misuse may leave a strong pesticide odor on a rental car or a plane, and customers are not likely to return to these facilities (Odor and safety Concerns).

ETS technicians are knowledgeable of the most common pests within the transportation industry, understand the complexities of the industry, and can provide you with a year-round comprehensive pest-effective control program for all site-specific pest concerns, as well as a safe and healthy environment for customers and working staff.
